A highly valued performer of Yiddish song on the international stage, she is also a writer and composer of new Yiddish songs, appearing worldwide as a singer and storyteller.

As a performer, Shura Lipovsky has collaborated with prominent musicians, including Theodore Bikel(z’’l), Tamara Brooks(z’’l), and Merima Kljuco. She formed the ensemble ‘Serendipity 4’ with Merima Kljuco, Zalmen Mlotek, and Jeff Warschauer, releasing the CD ‘Moments of Jewish Life.’ She also sang at the official Memorial Concert of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising in 1993, which became the CD ‘Heroes and Poets.’ Lipovsky performed at the Jewish Music Festival in Krakow for many years and gave the opening concert for the Jewish Cultural Center in Krakow in 1994. She participated in ‘The Klezmer Extravaganza’ with Ytzhak Perlman in New York in 1996.

Lipovsky formed various ensembles, such as ‘Yiddishe Veltn’ for a Rumanian/Yiddish program and ‘Trio Shura Lipovsky’ with Jan Rokyta and Monique Lansdorp, producing the CD ‘Tsart’ in 2006. In 2004, she initiated a Jewish/Bosnian song program with the Mostar Sinfonietta, joined by Theodore Bikel in 2005 for the ‘Bridge to Peace’ tour in Poland. In 2008, she performed with pianist Jacques Verheyen at the Delft Chamber Music Festival, which was recorded for Dutch radio.
