The ensemble 'Twist!' is dedicated to exploring unique repertoire, spanning the most delicate of melodies to complex musical tapestries, with expressive virtuosity and flat out, full octane velocity! A new twist is brought to familiar repertoire, compellingly arranged to draw the audience into their world. Communicating ideas easily and fluently to audiences comes naturally to this group of five instrumental virtuosos; Charles Cozens - piano (Juno Nominee 2006, Mississauga Musician of the Year 2003, Winner, CBC Arranger's Workshop Competition 1985), Mark Thompson - clarinet (Artists' International Competition First Prize, New York), Lance Elbeck - violin (Concertmaster, Hamilton Philharmonic, Toronto Philharmonia and Phantom of The Opera), Richard Moore - multipercussion (Yamaha Performing Artist and owner of over 2,000 percussion instruments!), and Bob Mills on bass.(Showboat, Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Toronto Philharmonia, Hamilton Philharmonic) Although the members of Twist! have known each other for many years, it was only through the experience of playing a show for many months, separated by two balconies and sixty feet, that they discovered their amazing affinity for playing together. Their mutual enjoyment is instantly apparent to audiences in their highly entertaining and informative performances.
